Gion is an associate professor at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he teaches scene design, design fundamentals, and scene painting. Design credits include Fallen Angels, The Little Foxes for Ovation Theatre of Cincinnati; The Santaland Diaries for New Edgecliff Theatre in Cincinnati; Happy Days at the West Virginia Public Theatre, Seussical at La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Dayton, OH; Big River at the Gallery Players of Brooklyn, I Love You! You’re Perfect ! Now Change! at the Florida Rep, The Magic Flute at the Illinois Opera Theatre, and 1776 at the Croswell Opera House in Adrian, Michigan. He has served as scenic charge at the Struthers Library Theatre, SummerFest at the Illinois Repertory Theatre, and the Contemporary American Theatre Festival.
