Jonathan (He/Him) is currently an Associate Professor of Theatre at the University of South Dakota teaching Lighting Design, Sound Design, and Stage Management. He holds an MFA in Lighting Design and Technology from Western Illinois University. Jonathan is a co-author of the recently released 2nd edition of Stage Management Basics: A Primer for Performing Arts Stage Managers. He has been working in the field both academically and professionally for over 18 years, some of his recent work includes Lion in Winter, and Fun Home for USD, The Marvelous Wonderettes, and I Love You, You’re Perfect Now Change for the Black Hills Playhouse. In addition to his university and freelance work, he is an ETC EOS Family Contract Trainer and invented and patented his cable management device Cable Munkey™ which you can see in his dealers’ booths on the show floor. Jonathan is currently the Vice Commissioner of Education and Training for the Lighting Commission.
