Description
Carissa Knitowski is a costume artisan and maker, with a particular interest in bringing digital fabrication technologies into the theatrical costuming industry. Carissa believes that her variety of knowledge in making, including woodworking, allows her a unique way to look at designing and fabricating costumes. She has over three years of experience working with and teaching others to use CNC machines in both the university setting and the professional world. Carissa got her undergraduate degree in theatrical design and technology from the University of Texas at Arlington. Here she began her research working with CNC routers, CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, and 3D printers. Carissa is currently working on a Master of Fine Arts in costume technology at the University of Houston. Here she is continuing her research on CAD to CAM technologies and their application within costumes.
